On 2017 Mar 25, Sat two of us from Croydon Meeting attended the Fourteenth National Peace Symposium run by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community UK. It attracts some prestigious attenders including parliamentarians, diplomats and mayors. Its purpose is to put over the message that the vast majority of Muslims are peace-loving people. But this is wasted on Quakers and indeed most of those present because they know that already. The speeches came over as platitudinous but the food was good and it was a chance to see round the Baitul Futuh Mosque in Morden, one of the largest mosques in western Europe. (One of the minarets is the re-purposed chimney of the Express Dairy bottling plant which previously occupied the site,)

Not the style of music I go for - the programme. For example I prefer to hear At the River sung by Burl Ives or Willie Nelson rather than as arranged by Aaron Copeland. But it raised money for Roko Academy in central Kenya.
